Scott Knudsen

Cowboy Entrepreneur

He’s not your ordinary 5th generation Texas cowboy with a business degree. In 2005, Scott was struck in the head by lighting while holding his daughter on her first birthday. She was fine. He had to re-learn to read and write.

Headquartered at Lightning K Ranch in Fredericksburg, Texas, Scott’s family owns Knudsen Equine Center, Knudsen Horses, and Knudsen Cattle Company. An AQHA Professional Horseman and AQHA Ambassador, Scott has ridden rough stock to race horses, team roped, penned, and sorted, ridden cutting horses, worked with rescues, and trained every breed from Quarter horses to Thoroughbreds, Morgans to Mustangs.

Elizabeth Kaye McCall

Author, Journalist & Media Consultant

Elizabeth Kaye McCall is a Los Angeles author, journalist, and media consultant, specializing in the horse industry, travel, and entertainment. She was the original horse industry liaison for the acclaimed equestrian spectacle Cavalia.

Her book The Tao of Horses: Exploring How Horses Guide Us on Our Spiritual Path showed how horses can transform the way we see the world, interact with our environment, and handle challenges. RAJALIKA SPEAK, a young adult tale, was inspired by her late Egyptian Arabian stallion, who really did “speak” on request.

As a contributor to wide-ranging outlets including Cowboys & Indians, Los Angeles Times, USA Weekend, Hana Hou!, Hemispheres, Horse Illustrated, Arabian Horse Life, Americas Horse, The Hollywood Reporter, and more, Elizabeth has written extensively on horses in film and television.
